I pretty much spent all of my summers and weekends in St. Landry. My father was Jack Harrell and he was born and raised there, so much of my family on that side populated the small town. Dad also carried the mail to St. Landry every morning and evening for 26 years and I use to ride with him in the afternoon when he picked me up from school. I met my first wife at LEO'S Skiting Rink and when we got married we moved a trailer across the bayou from the Cleco plant where we spent 16 years next to my Aunt Myrtie Kennedy, and raised 3 children before buying a real house in Bunkie, right across the street from mom and dad. My grandparents are in the Vandenberg cemetery in Chicot so I suppose you can say I am a son of Cocodrie. 4/14/2012 6:04:51 PM
