Wilson Mill

The following is an extract from a book written by Mr. David Jasper McNicoll "Looking Back at Washington, La.". An old landmark of which nothing now survives but the site, name and memory is "Wilson Mill" located a few miles above Washington on Bayou Cocodrie. This mill was owned by Dan W. Wilson Sr., and a Mr. Ernest McKinney had something to do with it too, Dan Wilson his son was a prominent citizen of the village of St. Landry and Mr. McKinney was the father of the late Thurston McKinney, a long time resident of Opelousas.
